I deleted a message and now I need to hear it again, what should I do?
BayLink keeps deleted message for a fixed time period before they are purged from the system. The time period varies depending on the service and the message type. If the deleted message has not been purged it can retrieved from the deleted message category and moved to the Saved category. Once the message is purged, it cannot be recovered. If you need to keep messages for long period of time you wish to consider BayLink Message Archive feature. You may also wish to consider the use of email notifications with attached audio. Messages can then be saved on your local disk drive as a back up. Please refer to the MyBayLink section of this web site for specifics. return to top
I did not receive a notification call to my cell phone for a new message, what happened?
There are two possibilities.
There is always a few minutes delay between when the caller hangs up and the notification call is made. If you happened to retrieve new messages during this time period (for example called and logged in), the system will not make a notification call as you have already heard the new message.
While cell phone service in this country is very good, cell phone calls still can be dropped by the cellular network. If this happens while the notification call is being made, you will not receive an alert. This problem is more likely to happen in geographic areas with poor cell coverage or during times in which the cell phone networks are very busy. Although the frequency of the problem is low, BayLink offers two solutions.
Repeat notifications – if you do not acknowledge a notification call by entering your pass code, the BayLink system will wait and then repeat the notification call. You can specify any wait time period up to 60 minutes, and the system can repeat this process up to a maximum of 3 times
Text message – you may wish to complement voice notification with a text message alert
